Albert Hall was the son of Garrett Hall and Etta Lucinda Loudin.

Private Albert E. Hall #34888191 US Army was assigned to the 141st Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division.

He was killed in action on the 24th of October 1944. Interment at Epinal American Cemetery, B,17,34, France.

During the night of 24-25 October German grenadiers overran the battalion command post which completely blocked the main trail to the battalions forward elements at Hill 645 in the densely forested hills and ridges of the Domaniale de Champs forest. The forward element consisted of 237 troops of the first battalion and four attachments. They were cut off until the 30th of October and became known as the “Lost Battalion”. The trapped men were desperately short of ammunition and medical supplies. It was only after days of hard fighting by the 442nd “Nisei” Regiment composed of Japanese Americans that they were finally rescued on 30 October. The battle cost the 442nd heavy casualties and they lost more than 50 per cent of their strength.
