Anderson Frank Lane Jr. was the son of Anderson Franklin Lane and Annie Cora Johnson. He died non Battle while serving in the Air Corps. His halb sibling Pvt. Edward Walden Lane died at sea during World War I.

2nd Lt. Anderson Frank Lane Jr., 22 years, of R.D. 15, was killed in an airplane accident Thursday 3:19 p.m. at LaJunta Army Air Field, LaJunta, Colorado. Surviving; parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Lane Sr., Knoxville; half-sisters, Mrs. Margaret Hammond, Mrs. Sallie Mae French, Knoxville; Mrs. Mildred Walker, Cincinnatti, Ohio; Mrs. Annie B. Shudan, Loudong County; Mrs Flora Fluri, Bearden.

La Junta, Colo. – A student instructor and two student officers were killed Thursday in the crash of a La Junta Army Airbase training plane.
The public relations said the dead included 2nd Lt. Anderson Frank Lane, Jr., 22, son of Mrs. Annie C. Lane, Route 13, Knoxville, Tenn.
