He was the son of Ernest Morgan Headrick and Eliza Jane Baker. Brother of Earnestine “Tina” Headrick and William Thomas “Tommy” Headrick. He was married to Katie Lee Collette and father of Dennis Headrick.
He graduated from Old Knox High School. He enlisted on April 8, 1941, in Fort Oglethorpe, GA
Cause of death unknown; the plane he was on disappeared and it was never located.

Pfc. Clifford H. Headrick, 25, husband of Mrs. C.H. Headrick, 2400 Lawson Street, was reported missing off the coast of Myrtle Beach, SC., last Friday. Mrs. Headrick had retruned to Knoxville with their 10-month old son 13 days before Private Headrick, former copy boy for The Knoxville Journal, was reported missing. There were six men in his plane.

The Charleston Army Air Field announced today that a Liberator bomber was listed as missing after failing to return to the base last night. Bits of wreckage were found on the coast near Myrtle Beach, the announcement said, but it had not been determined whether they were parts of the missing heavy bomber.
