Eugene Herman street died in a hospital on Guam September 6, 1944. He was wounded on Guadalcanal and moved to the hospital in Guam. He entered the service December 26, 1940, and received his training at Norfolk, Va., Miami Fla., New Orleans, La., and Boston, Mass. He went overseas in June, 1943, and was serving on a U.S. Navy destroyer, the USS Carlson. He is survived by his grandmother, Mrs. Sartah Cochran; his father, Landon Street; five brothers Harley, Claude, Brown, Earl and Ed and an aunt, Mrs. Ethel Cochran and uncle, Ben Norris.

My grandfather is Eugene’s biological son. Eugene passed when his son was roughly 4 years old. My grandfather was born in November 1940. All he has of his father is his grave. I would love to sponser the grave of Eugene for him as a surprise!
