Eugene Spencer Helton Sr. was born 17 November 1920. He was the son of Marion Hosea Helton and Manda Ollie Center. He was married to Lillian Goins and they were the parents of Eugene Spencer Helton Jr. and Kenneth Burkett Helton.
He died 11 March 1945.
Pvt Helton was first buried at the Iwo Jima 5th Division Cemetery, Kazan Retto QMC. He is now buried at the Honolulu Memorial Cemetery, HI, E, 49.
