Funerals for two Etowah soldiers, killed in World War II will be held in Etowah next week at hours yet to be announced. Funeral services for Pvt. Frank C. Newberry, killed in action July 16, 1944, in the battle of St. Lo, France, will be held from New Bethel Church with interment in New Bethel Cemetery. Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer C. Newberry of Pinehurst; nine brothers, Fred, Edward, Mark, Carson, H.C. Jr., Merle and Don of Etowah; Charles of Maryville; Glenn of the U.S. Army; two sisters, Mrs. Lenna Burchfield of Etowah, and Sybil of Pinehurst.
