Private George J. Davis was assigned to the Service Battalion, First Special Service Force, also known as the Devil Brigade, made up of American and Canadian troops. He died on 7 December 1943 and is interred at G,1,20 Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Italy.
He born in 1925 in Kentucky, and was the youngest son of George Washington Davis and Mary Leach. He resided with his sister and brother in law, William Foster and Bertha Dykes in Pruden, Tennessee, at the time of his enlistment.
