Pvt. Glen L. Dixon, son of Mrs. Julia Dixon, will be re-interred at Corinth cemetery with full military honors Sunday afternoon. He was killed in action in the Aleutian Islands on May 26, 1943. The body will arrive here at 6:25 a.m. Friday and will be escorted from the station by and honor guard of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars members.
Born in Loudon on Sept. 5, 1922, Pvt. Dixon enlisted with C. company, 32nd Infantry when he fell. Survivors include his mother; his father, Cecil Dixon of Sweetwater; two sisters, Mrs. Ed Bandy and Mrs. Edward Moore both of Philadelphia; and two brothers, Charles and Gene, both of Loudon.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Ray Duncan at Philadelphia Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. Quinn Funeral Home will be in charge.
