Private First Class Hermitt McGaha died from injuried received in Germany on June 19, 1945. He was born January 28, 1909. He was 36 years, four months and 22 days of age. He entered the service the third day of May, 1944. He was first in the Anti-Aircraft, the in the infantry. He was driving a jeep at the time of his death. Survivors, wife. Mildred Webb McGaha, daughter, Florence Nadine, both of Sevierville, Route 9: mother, Mrs. Delia Schultz and step-father, Johnnie Schultz of Cosby, Route 1; one brother, Sgt. Hollis Burleson of the U.S. Air Force. Services will be held in his memory July 29 at Hill’s Creek Baptist Church. He was buried in the U.S. Military Cemetery in Holland.
