Hobert Taylor Price was the son of Ransom Price and Elsie F. Conar. He was married to Grace Stancil.
PFC Hobert Taylor Price was a member of H&S Battery, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was killed in action on 16 Oct 1942 in combat operations on Guadalcanal when his position was shelled by Japanese battleships. He is buried at the Honolulu Memorial Cemetery in Hawaii.

Pfc. Hobart Price was killed in action with the Marines on Guadalcanal before dawn on Oct. 16, the War Department has informed his wife. He was the son of Ransom Price of Athens, Tenn. His widow is the former Miss Grace Stancil daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Major Stancil, of Sungright. Private Price had been in the Marines two eyars and was trained at San Diego and New River, N.C.
