Howard Rogers was born in Embreeville, Tennessee, the son of Thomas (Tom) Jefferson Rogers and Lula Bell Blevins. Husband of Evelyn C. Rogers.

After his mother died in 1918, he and his father lived his grandparents, Joseph and Rebekah Rogers. His father remarried in 1923 with Minnie Ann Wilson.

He was Killed in Action at Hambach, Germany
