Ira Lee Vaughn was born on 23 November 1931, son of James Harvey Vaughn and Mollie Gaddis.

Corporal Vaughn was a member of the 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in North Korea on November 17, 1950 and returned to duty on January 24, 1951. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on April 6, 1951.

Buried at Fairview Cemetery, Greeneville, TN.
