James Carl Holtsinger was born 11 March 1923 in Limestone, Tennessee to Harry Dobson Holtsinger and Stella Mae McCurry. Cpl. Holtsinger was inducted into military service on January 8, 1943, leaving a position at an Alcoa industrial plant. He had basic training at Camp Bowie in Texas.
He died 12 December 1944 and is buried at Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France, K, 10, 9
He also has a memorial stone in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Lester Snapp and Snapp Bridge Roads, Limestone, TN.
