James Glenn Williamson was born 2 September 1912 in Etowah, McMinn County, Tennessee. He was the son of James Elijah Williamson and Bertha Dan Boone. Husband of Annabelle Whitley.
Died non Battle 25 May 1945 in Bad Meinberg, Germany.

Captain Williamson was accidentally killed by a discharged pistol in the officer’s quarters. He was initially buried at the American War Cemetery Margraten in the Netherlands and was reburied in 1949 at Rest Haven Cemetery, Monroe, Walton County in Georgia.

Captain James G. Williamson, 32, of the Air Corps, was accidentally killed by a discharged gun in his officers’ quarters in Bad Meinberg, Germany, May 25, the War Department has informed his wife, a former Atlantian, now of Alexandria Virginia. Memorial services were held for Captain Williamson in Lemgo, Germany, May 26. Chaplain Captain Sterling S. Wees officiated. Burial was in the U.S. Military Cemetery at Margraten, Holland. A graduate of Tech high School, Captain Williamson attended Georgia Tech. he enlisted in 1942. Overseas since last July, he served as a liaison pilot with the Sixteenth Artillery Force Corps. He had completed 55 combat mission and held the Air medal for “meritorious achievement.” Prior to his induction, he was employed by the Atlanta Wholesale Florist Company. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Williamson, of Etowah, Tenn.
He was also survived by a sister, Mrs. Kenneth Jackson of Knoxville; three brothers, Tom Williamson of Memphis, Capt. Dan C. Williamson of Yokahama, Japan and Cpl. Russell Gene Williamson of Tokyo, Japan.
