James Thomas Huddleston was the son of Ledford Huddleston and Josephine Nancy Walden. He enlisted at the recruiting station at Nashville, Tennessee on 17 May 1917. He served on the USS Minnesota and the USS Solace, became ill and was admitted to the Naval Hospital at Norfolk and then transferred to the Naval Hospital Fort Lyong in Colorado where he died a day later at the age 21 .
