Joe Carl Isabell was born on 15 April 1918, the son of Colonel Beecham Isabell and Minnie Pearl Harris.
He was stationed with the field artillery in Hawaii in 1941. He Died non Battle 5 August 1942 somewhere in the Pacific.

Pvt. Joseph Isabell, formerly of Knoxville, was killed in action Aug. 5, somewhere in Hawaii, friends here learned. A War Department telegram telling of Private Isbell’s death was received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Isabell, of Wilder, Tenn. A native of Wilder, Private Isabell, 24, was making his home with a sister, and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Ingle, of 3017 Montgomery Avenue when he entered service two years ago. He was stationed at Schofield Barracks, Honolulu. Surviving besides the parents and the sister, Mrs. Ingle, ar four other sisters.
