Joe Gaylor was born on 5 February 1919 in Newcomb, Tennessee, the son of Josiah “Joe” Gaylor and Okla Tiller. He resided in Blue Diamond, Kentucky where he was employed by the Blue Diamond Coal Company before he entered the service. Died non Battle 7 August 1945, Riverside, California. He passed away at the U.S. Navy Hospital in Corona, California. He had served with the Seventh Fleet in the Pacific theater of war for nine months. He was survived by his wife and daughter, parents and one sister.
Joe Gaylor is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, La Follette, Campbell County, Tennessee.
