Pfc. John L. Lackey, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Lackey of Harrison, Tenn. and husband of Mrs. Jewel Lackey of 1603 East 46th Street was reported in a War Department telegram as seriously injured in France. Pfc. Lackey, father of a 10-day-old son, was seriously injured in France Aug. 10. No details were given concerning his injuries. He formerly was employed at the TNT plant, entered the army two years ago, and had been overseas four months.

The body of Pfc. John L. Lackey, 22, killed in action Aug. 11, 1944, i France, will arrive in Chattanooga tomorrow for final interment here. Pfc. Lackey served with Company A, 23rd Infantry. He entered the service Oct. 22, 1942
Surviving are his son, Johnnie LeRoy Lackey, Chattanooga; mother, Mrs. Emma Lackey, Harrison; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Ramsey and Mrs. Dorothy McDaniel, Harrison and Mrs. Ruby Lee Stonecipher, Cleveland, Tenn.; four brothers, Gilbert, Winfrey and Warren H. Lackey, Harrison, and Vernon Lackey, McDonald, Tenn. Interment in McDonald Cemetery with military honors.
