Lloyd Guy Anderson was born on 14 August 1915 in Hawkins County, Tennessee. He was the son of Rosa Katherine “Kate” Anderson. He was the brother of Oma Mina Anderson, Robert Charles Anderson, Mary Gladys Anderson and Nita Anderson.

He was killed in action on 9 August 1944 in France.

Funeral services for Pvt. Lloyd G. Anderson, 29, who was killed in action in France on August 9, 1944, will be held at the Hamlett-Dobson chapel. Burial will be in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. A native of Hawkins County and former Borden Mills employe in Kingsport. Pvt. Anderson is survived by his mother, Mrs. Kate Anderson, 1313 Chestnut Street; a brother, Charles, Kingsport; and three sisters, Mrs. Oma Wagner, Church Hill; Mrs. Gladys Whitmire, Charlotte, N.C.; and Mrs. Nita Rogers, Kingsport.
