Luora “Lou” Gould Sheddan was born 7 September 1923 in Los Angeles, California. He was the son of Luora Gould Sheddan and Lillian Elizabeth Wolfe. Lou enlisted on July 20, 1940. He married Helen Lee Gray in 1942 in Georgia.
T/Sgt Sheddan died on 20 June 1944 and is buried at Riverdale Cemetery, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia.

The body of Lou G. Sheddan Jr., who was killed on Normandy beach on June 20, 1944, is scheduled to arrive here from overseas. Funeral services will be held at Striffler Chapel and burial will be in Riverdale cemetery. Mr. Sheddan was born in San Francisco, Calif., Sept. 7, 1923, the son of L.G. and Lillian E. Wolf, but had lived here for three years before going overseas. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Helen Gray Sheddan, Columbus; his mother, Mrs. Lillian e. Terry, Sandusky, O.; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Baily, Sandusky, and Miss Jean Sheddan, Knoxville, Tenn.; three brothers, Charles M. Sheddan, St. Louis, Mo., and Tommy and Bobby Sheddan, Sandusky. Mrs. Sheddan resides at 4401 Third Avenue.
