Raymond Hilton Snyder was the son of George Washington Snyder and Mary Sonora ” Nora” Dake. He married Hattie Laura Pugh in Anniston, Alabama on 8 August 1942. He died non battle near Cedar Springs School due to an truck accident.

“Funeral of Sergeant Raymond Hilton Snyder Held At Cardiff Last Week. Funeral services for Sergeant Raymond Hilton Snyder, age 31, were held from the Cardiff Baptist Church at 300 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 16th. The Rev. James Hinds of Grandview was in charge with the Rev. James, pastor of the church, assisting. Burial was made in the Oak Grove cemetery in Rockwood. Sgt. Snyder was accidentally killed on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Ft. McClellan, Ala., where he had been stationed for nearly two years. The body arrived in Rockwood the following Tuesday at 230 p.m. and was accompanied by Sgt. Robert Schultz, Cpl. Jack Marcello, Mrs. Snyder and her two sisters. . . .”
