Silas Jefferson Whaley was the son of William McPherson “Mack” Whaley and Pearlie Whaley.
Pvt Whaley volunteered for Philippines service 20 Feb 1940 and died in a Japanese Prison Camp 8 Aug 1942.
Silas is my distant uncle and have two pictures of him in the military. Want to l earn more of his journey and death to write in my family tree book as a keepsake. Ran across this and not sure what this is for. But feel he should be honored for being a pow and serving our country. Wilda Davis
