Thomas Delbert Tankersley was born on 12 January 1915, the son of Jasper Newton Tankersley and Laura Elizabeth Atkerson.He had been in the service for nearly three years and had been overseas for two and a half years. He had served in Iceland, England, North Ireland and France. He had two brothers, Charles Herman and Hubert Lee Tankersley and one sister, Velma Mae Tankersley.
He was killed in action on 10 August 1944 in France
