He was a member of the 2nd battalion – E Company – of the 22nd Infantry Regiment.

Wilbur White was initially buried at Sainte-Mère-Eglise #2 Cemetery at Carentan, France and reburied at Normandy American Cemetery at  Colleville-sur-Mer, France,  Plot B, Row 16, Grave 44
