Willard Claytis Dossett was born 17 May 1916 in Fentress County, Tennessee. His parents were Fletcher A. Dossett and Nila Buroff. He married Maudie Miller 19 October 1935 in Maynardville, Union County, Tenn. They had four children, Clarence (Bud) Dossett, Joyce Dossett , Betty Dossett and Imogene L. Dossett. He enlisted 18 March 1944.
He was killed in action on 20 November 1944 in Holland.

Pvt. Willard Dossett, former resident of Bloomington, has been killed in action in Holland, according to word received by Mrs. George Musick, 1702 West Market street. Mrs. Musick and Pvt. Dossett’s wife are sisters. Pvt. Dossett lived here about seven years ago. He was inducted into the army in March, 194. Survivors are the wife, the former Maud Brantley of Knoxville, Tenn., and four small children.
