Elzie McCuiston was the son of George Newton McCuiston and Tilda Caroline Yother. He died on April 23 on Luzon Island from wounds received two days earlier. He attended school in Dayton, Tenn., before volunteering for army duty in 1941. He was stationed at Camp Croft, S.C., and Delray, Calif., before going overseas. His brother, Tec5 George N. McCuiston was killed in action in Germany. Elzie McCuiston was the husband of Lela Mae McCuiston.
